GAMBARAN PEMERIKSAAN GOLONGAN DARAH ABO PADA MAHASISWA ASRAMA UNIVERSITAS JENDERAL ACHMAD YANI YOGYAKARTA TAHUN 2023

Abstract

Background: Blood type is important information for each individual for the world of health
(medical) such as the blood group of parents and children, the success of medical procedures,
especially blood transfusions, organ transplants and pregnancy. In this world, there are
actually about 46 types of antigens besides ABO and Rh antigens. The ABO blood group
system is determined by the presence or absence of Ag A and/or Ag B expressed on red blood
cells and the presence or absence of antibodies (Ab) A and/or B in the serum/plasma. The
ABO blood group system consists of 4 blood groups, namely blood groups A, B, AB and O.
Objectives: This study aims to determine the results of ABO blood group examination in
dormitory students at Jenderal Achmad Yani University, Yogyakarta. Methodes: This type of
research uses quantitative descriptive. The sample in this study was the residents of the
Unjaya student dormitory as many as 30 students using a random sampling system with
accidental sampling technique . Data analysis using univariate analysis. Results: Based on the
results of research conducted from 30 respondents, there were 5 respondents with blood type
A (16.67%). Respondents with blood type B were 12 (40%). Respondents with blood type AB
were 4 people (13.3%). Respondents blood type O as much as 9 (30%). Conclusion: The
results of this study showed that the most common blood group found was blood type B with 12
(40%) respondents.
